Advocacy week - ottawa gazan canadians community
Description
Help Us Bring Gaza’s Voices to Ottawa – Fund Our National Advocacy Week
Our community is organizing an urgent advocacy week in Ottawa to demand action from Canada’s government — and we need your help.
For nearly two years, Canadians with family trapped in Gaza have been pleading with Immigration Minister Lena Diab and the Liberal government to evacuate our families from a war zone. Now, as the Rafah crossing is expected to reopen after the ceasefire, this is our critical window to act.
We are bringing together community members from across the country — from Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto — to travel to Ottawa, meet with Members of Parliament, and push for immediate evacuation measures. This is not a symbolic trip. It’s a coordinated, strategic advocacy effort that could save lives.
But we cannot do this without collective support.
We need to raise $40,000 to cover essential costs for our volunteers and organizers:
Travel (flights, trains, and transportation)
Accommodation and meals for participants
Materials and logistics for sit-ins, vigils, and meetings with MPs
Website and communication tools that keep our advocacy alive and organized
Every dollar goes directly to these expenses, managed transparently by volunteers through a shared expense tracker. Donors will receive regular updates and financial reports once compiled — this movement runs on accountability and community trust.
We are a grassroots movement made up of Gazan Canadians, families torn apart by war, and allies across Canada who refuse to stay silent. This advocacy week is our chance to turn public outrage into political action before Parliament’s December break.
We’re asking you — if you can give, please do.
If you can’t, please share this fundraiser in your networks, community groups, and workplaces. The more people who see this, the stronger our voice becomes.
Lives depend on action. Let’s make Ottawa listen.
