Dana's coffee shop

Hi FitFam,
This week our Membership Coordinator Dana's hometown was hit hard by a typhoon in the Philippines. In an effort to help support their families, Dana and her partner invested in a coffee shop and restaurant on the beach in the town of El Nido just last year. If you can believe it a second and BIGGER typhoon is hitting today (Sunday Nov 9) and impacting even larger areas, including Dana's home and family's home. More than 1,000,000 are being evacuated.

While luckily the equipment was not damaged in the first storm, the restaurant and surrounding huts were destroyed, and insurance is not the norm like it is here. It will require about $3000 to repair -- a small amount by Canadian standards but a life altering amount over there. We are hoping that things do not get worse in the coming Super Typhoon.
