Help saving Madhar's Life
A Refugee Who Fled War... Now Fighting to Survive After a Tragic Accident
Who is Madhar?
Madhar is a refugee who fled war and sought peace outside his country, where he lived modestly and worked hard despite earning less than $10 a day. In October 2024, he suffered a serious motorcycle accident caused by another driver, leaving him with severe injuries and over 80% disability.
After multiple surgeries and ongoing infections, he now urgently needs two more complex operations to survive and regain mobility. With limited medical options and soaring costs, Madharโs family brought him back to his own town, where resources are scarce. We urgently seek your help to raise $12,000 USD / CA17,000 to cover his life-saving treatment and give him a chance at recovery.
Full Story:
Madhar, a refugee, left his homeland to escape the horrors of war and refused to participate in fighting or take the lives of other CIVILIAN. He chose the path of peace and left everything behind in search of safety.
He arrived in Lebanon on August 12, 2024, where he lived modestly and worked hard despite his income never exceeding $10 per day. Despite his hardships, he was known for his generosity and emotional and financial support to those in need. Some donations helped him pay rent while he continued to assist others.
On October 14, 2024, tragedy struck. While returning home on his motorcycle after work, he was hit by a car. The accident was not his fault, but the driver did not take responsibility nor cover any of his medical expenses.
Madhar slipped into a coma for one week (7 days) in intensive care. After awakening, he underwent two surgeries on his head and jaw at Junblat Hospital on November 16. He was then transferred to Al-Iman Hospital for a hip surgery. Madhar stayed about a month at Al-Iman, completing his treatment plan, but after that, he only received painkillers without further treatment.
After each surgery, he underwent multiple tests including cultures and swabs to identify infections and the germs causing them. Despite these efforts, the infection persisted, requiring ongoing medication and antibiotics.
Due to the high medical costs in Lebanon and the expiration of his residency permit, his family had to bring him back to his town, despite his village being with very limited medical resources.
Currently, Madhar needs two final surgeries:
Stage One: Reopening the wound, cleaning it, washing the tissues, taking swabs to verify the infection and its cause, followed by two weeks of antibiotic treatment.
Stage Two: Removing the temporary joint spacer and implanting a permanent artificial joint with support for mobility.
Madharโs condition is critical; he suffers from over 80% disability and cannot walk, move, or eat on his own. He depends completely on his family.
Your donation, no matter how small, can be the reason he lives.
